Still unemployed . . . but looking. The wonder of the electronic age, you can apply for a job online and get rejected 2 hours later ^_^ Soooooo fun.
Working on Christmas presents . . . decided it was time to clean out the ol' fabric stash and use my sewing machine more (which is why I've been scarce) Here's a picture of my first finished product, a stuffed parrot for my niece.

Not the best picture, but you get the idea. It's not an accurate depiction of any parrot in particular, I just needed to use the large amount of green fabric sitting in my closet ;P

As for what I've been up to . . . here's Merial's Halloween costume:

Just read the description on how I made all of it.
Not much else to report . . . feeling rather depressed at the moment but it isn't anything that anyone can do about it but me so I'm not going talk about it anymore than that.

Friday night was Meri's belt test. She was going for her purple belt, and I invited my parents to come for the weekend to see it (since they're the ones paying for her karate lessons). Meri not only passed, but she did it in a style that impressed her teachers . . . to the point where she got up and did Pinon one BY HERSELF and NAILED IT!!!!! SHE WAS AWESOME!!!! *ish very proud* She moves up to the Intermediate Class now ^_^ After said test we went for a celebratory dinner at Cafe Italia, which was delicious.
The next day we all (and I do mean all, even Dan) went to the Sacramento Zoo and Fairytale Town with my parents. The Zoo was fun . . . the animals were fairly active since it was cool, and we discovered that they have a carousel at the zoo now . . . and it sooo COOL. I have to love a carousel that has a PRAYING MANTIS you can ride on! And an Otter! XD Not a single horse to be seen, but the animals they did have were so cool! Go here to see the layout and some of the animals, including the otter After the zoo and a short picnic we went to Fairytale Town and let the kids continue to run themselves ragged XD By the time we left the area, we were all exhausted. My parents then treated us to Chinese and left us to get the kids calmed down enough so that they could continue the fun on Sunday.
Sunday we went to a pumpkin patch and got the kids pumpkins to carve for Halloween. Went to a low key one . . . didn't want to expend a lot of energy trying to explain to the kids why they couldn't do any of the stuff do to money constraints. >.> But, we got two really nice pumpkins for $10 for both. :D Hung out at the house for a while, and then headed off to a 3D Double Feature of Toy Story and Toy Story 2. That was pretty cool, the kids enjoyed it. Although, I have to say the Toy Story didn't really work very well as 3D . . . whereas Toy Story 2 was PERFECT in 3D. But, since I hadn't ever seen either of them on the big screen (and neither had the kids) it was fun to do. Long though . . . I'm really amazed Doug was able to sit still that long (movies started at 3pm and we didn't get out of the theater until 7pm)
Needless to say, that after all of that, I feel like I need to recover from my weekend >.> But it was fun.
*sigh* Now to get serious on my to-do list.
And that is the State of the Draig.

Back to the 80's by *dragondoodle on deviantART
This is my character, Rysta, dressed as Jem, and a character of a friend of mine dressed like a member of Motley Crue from the early years (not an exact replica . . . more inspired by).

Just pick a review . . . any review XD
There's just something funny about the combination of a clever, snarky man who doesn't seem to breathe between sentences and primitive animation. ^_^
Or . . . maybe it's just me *shrugs*

Dusting off Ye Olde Resume to get it ready for job hunting again.
Meri's Sailor Moon Costume is going well . . . finished the wig, tiara, earrings, and choker. I know that doesn't sound like much, but that WIG was HARD. 36" of cheap blond hair . . . *bleah*
Finished the wedding present I'd been agonizing over, and it turned out well.
Realizing I've been neglecting my story . . . need to remedy that. Soon.
Looks like we'll be going to see the King Tut exhibit in December! YAY!! I'm very excited about this, since I saw it when it came through 30 years ago (yes, I was 8 at the time) and my daughter will be seeing it at the same age I did ^_^ How cool is that?
Cats are still alive and kicking . . . despite threats from their owners of death on many occasions for various destructive behaviors, including trying to remove a painting of mine from the wall forcibly O.o At least they take care of the bugs that slip under the badly weatherstripped doors XD
Finally introduced to major homework with Merial . . . poor kid . . . beginning of the nightmare. At least she doesn't fight doing it.
Other than that . . . fighting off a cold at the moment.
Oh . . . and just because I felt the need for a little cheerful color, here's a photo I took while I was in Idaho in Sun Valley ;P

Not here or on Facebook very often, but trying to keep up with everyone.
Working on Meri's Halloween costume. She's going to be Sailor Moon, the original and first transformation. Progress has been good, but it's been HELL finding a white leotard to base the whole thing on. Resigned to getting the darn thing online and praying that it fits.
Other than that . . . been watching an episode of Jeeves and Wooster every night (Dan got the whole run of the series for his birthday). XD Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie were such a fantastic team . . . they were MADE for these roles! And it's so fun to see Hugh Laurie being an idiot. ^_^
Other than that . . . 15th Anniversary came and went with much fun sans kids . . . Meri started 3rd grade O.o . . . Doug is getting bigger every day . . . job is going well . . . and, well, life goes merrily on ^_^
