Update and realizations . . .

The Fourth was good . . . relaxing and I got some more art done . . . practicing my blood and wounds and it's not bad according to those who have looked and commented ;P Things are rolling now . . . the comic is in the immediate future. And I'm excited about it :D

LJ has become less and less interesting to me lately . . . perhaps it's the lack of people that seem to be posting and/or responding . . . perhaps its the general depressing aura that seems to have permeated the place within my (admittedly) small group of LJ friends . . . I really can't put my finger on one specific thing, it's more of a build up I guess. I've found my positive energy . . . I can't let it escape now . . . and I've found a place where it's appreciated. That's really what everyone is looking for, isn't it?

So . . . I'll be meandering in and out of here on a not so regular basis. If there's anything that anyone needs to tell me that's earth shattering, I'm on dA . . . a lot. Drop by there. Or e-mail me em_gaskill at yahoo dot com.

Update . . .

If anyone's interested . . . here's the State of the Draig.

Busy at work . . . but it's weird knowing it will probably all end mid July . . . and hard to keep my productivity up because of it.

I've been doing art . . . a lot of it. I'm loving being on dA and getting feedback and making new friends and connecting in a different way with old ones . . . I never thought it would become that kind of place for me. I've also started doing little RP's with my characters with other people and their characters . . . that's been interesting and amusing ;P And it's been inspiring my art as well . . . if you're interested, go here or here. The best part is that my art is improving much faster than I thought possible . . . I'm ready to start on that comic soon . . . I'll make sure to let any of you who are still paying attention know when that happens ;)

My family is doing fine . . . although it's been tough on the kids to have to be cooped up when it gets 106 outside (like this weekend, *bleh*). Planning on going to a Family Reunion of my mom's family in Monterey in a couple of weeks . . . then off to Idaho and Oregon to see Dan's family. Should be a nice break from the mundane. ;) And fun to put our "new" van through its paces.

Other than that . . . life goes on . . . and I can honestly say that I'm eager to see what life has in store for the future ^_^ How's that for a shocker . . . optimism from me . . . XD

Update

Yesterday, got home from work, packed up the kids and drove them up to my parent's house. Discovered that the VHS player in the van does indeed work . . . and plays the sound through the radio (meaning, whatever the kids are watching I get to listen to). That made the drive a little more bearable for them . . . but I'm going to have veto power over the movies if I've got to listen.

Got to Anderson and discovered that my parents are in the process of putting vinyl siding on the house . . . which, in my mind, is a serious improvement. They've been working on getting the outside of the house finally looking nice . . . landscaping is being talked about (YAY!)

Huge thunderstorm with pouring down rain kept me up most of the night, and the workers putting on the siding came over at 8am and started working (On A Saturday?!? WTF?!?) So the pounding woke me up . . .

So, little sleep. Which is pretty usual if Dan's not with me anyway.

Took the kids to Turtle Bay Museum to see a Lego art exhibit (awesome stuff, yes I saw the pieces linked and they were LIFE SIZED!!) and Sue the T-Rex. The Turtle Bay Eagle cam isn't working . . . but the Eagles have fledged and two of them are in process of leaving the nest (very cool!)

Drove home today and have been having a nice time with the hubby ^_^ Going to go see Star Trek tomorrow.

Guess it's time for an update.

Merial is off at her end-of-the-year camp out at her teacher's ranch . . . so it's just the three of us tonight.

I'm getting all mentally prepared for job hunting and juggling the possibilities after my boss retires in July . . . we'll see how it goes. I've got some part time prospects, but part time isn't going to be enough. So . . . we'll see.

Other than that, things have been . . . meh . . . been busy at work, which I guess is good, home has been fine when I'm not feeling stressed. Dan and Meri are enjoying their karate. I'm enjoying working on my artwork and improving slowly but surely.
